Welcome to my Blog!

I understand that in order to be part of this society we need to embrace technology. I love technology on one hand- but I would say I can be techno-challenged! So building a blog was not my planned use of precious time. But here I am, trying to do just that because I am "supposed to." It is where the world is going and I need to get on board. So bear with me and feel free to make suggestions and I will try to rise to the occasion. Another learning experience! This year my learning curve has been a complete vertical line- no curve! Lord, pull me through!

In Honor of Veteran's everywhere...

My heartfelt thanks to all the veterans out there. In honor of Veteran's Day I am posting a set of photographs that I took last Spring of Veronica. She willingly allowed me to use her as a subject for a project I was doing on Native American women. She is not only beautiful but a very courageous, strong woman.

A couple weeks ago on a very windy evening, I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph one of my favorite families who I can truly call some of my bestest friends. Josh and Stephanie are amazing parents to 3 adorable children: Jackson, Emma and Abby. Also, making a debut in the family album is Bella, the family's Saint Bernard "puppy." This family was very dear to me and took in my Halle to babysit before I was ready to turn her over to daycare last year and once a week took my 3 other younguns after school for a few hours while I was in class. And then on Saturdays Josh would often take Gabe and Noah and even Caleb for hikes and showed them some really amazing places. I will never be able to repay them for all they did during that time but this photo shoot was just a token of the love that I have for them. Thanks for the opportunity!

Love in the Fall & Moose

I will be photographing Audrey and Jerud's wedding next summer, so we spent a beautiful evening up Hyalite a few weekends ago and I watched the love between these two. At first I felt like paparazzi following them around but as the evening progressed the love flowed naturally and these are just a sneak peak into that.

Oh, and on our way to Hyalite Lake we had the rare opportunity to see a family of moose enjoying an even stroll.

Black & White and Medium Format- still love my Bronica

I had not pulled out my Bronica in several years, but when a friend said he would develop and scan the images for me, I decided to see what happened if I drug along my old baby. Thanks Joey Early for your contribution in doing that.
I loved the reaction of the bride, Chelsea. She was excited and asked for specific images to be shot on the Bronica. I was shooting with my son, Jeremiah, and he was annoyed at the attention this old antiquated piece of equipment provoked. This is the first time I have shown the images. Tell me what you think.
Back to this wedding- It was gorgeous and held at the Gallatin River Hideaway- a wonderful venue. Brian and Chelsea were a blast- lots of fun and lots of special touches. I might have to go back and pull out some of my digital images to share more at some point.

The Stunning Francine

I had met Francine on several occasions so was excited when she called needing a photo done that would accompany her article in a magazine. God blessed us with a gorgeous fall day to stroll up Sourdough Canyon and this is taste of the results. I really enjoyed getting to know this amazing and stunningly beautiful woman that I feel I can call a real friend now. Enjoy!

Wanted to share a few more of my niece. I can't believe she will be graduating this year. I remember when...

Victoria & Ryan

I always fall in love with my clients but I TRULY fell for this couple. Tori stopped by my booth at the farmer's market with her best friend and timidly asked, "would you happen to be free tomorrow night to photograph my wedding?" Normally I have guests over on Sunday evenings but there was just something that made me rearrange a few things and agree to this last minute new plan. It was definitely the right choice. Tori and Ryan had been engaged for 6 months, but in 3 days decided not to put off the wedding any longer. With both of their close family members (T0ri's mom and dad and best friend flew in from New York) and just a few special friends they pulled off a beautiful ceremony. See for yourself! By the way, they were saving their cake to cut later after they all went to dinner so cheese and fruit was served. I asked for them to "cut the cheese" so they would have a traditional photo of that part of the ceremony. They did :)
